After a goalless first half, Manchester City continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, beginning with Bernardo Silva opening the scoring in the 79th minute. Later, Manchester City scored again and increased their advantage thanks to a penalty goal from Ilkay Gundogan in the 90th minute just before the final whistle, sealing a resounding 2-0 victory for the home side.

Both managers made their full set of substitutions.
