Swansea City return home with all 3 points, after beating Rotherham United 3-1

Swansea’s 3-1 win over Rotherham on Saturday, was hard fought at the Aesseal New York Stadium. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Rotherham United wanted to continue adding points following a disappointing 3-3 draw with Stoke City in their previous game. Swansea City, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Brentford. As it stands, Rotherham United are in 22nd place on the table and has 23 points while Swansea City sit in 2nd with 50 points after 27 matches.

Swansea City dominated the first half, beginning with a goal from Conor Hourihane, 28 minutes in. Later, Swansea City scored again and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Matt Grimes, 38 minutes in. The score at half time was 2-0.

Rotherham United took the initiative in the second half, following a goal from Freddie Ladapo in the 65th minute. Swansea City extended the margin thanks to a goal from Jay Fulton, 74 minutes in to establish the 3-1 to hand victory to the visitors.

For Rotherham, Freddie Ladapo, Ryan Giles, Clark Robertson, George Hirst and Florian Jozefzoon came on for Yan Dhanda and Jamal Lowe, while Swansea brought on Jay Fulton and Jordan Morris to replace Yan Dhanda and Jamal Lowe.

There were bookings for Richard Wood from Rotherham and Andre Ayew for Swansea.

Rotherham United will next travel to Preston North End, while Swansea City will face Norwich City at home.
