On Tuesday, Sheffield Wednesday suffer an away defeat to Stoke City at Bet365 Stadium. Stoke City were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last game 4-1 to Norwich City. Sheffield Wednesday were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-0 victory against Wycombe Wanderers. As the table looks today, Stoke City and Sheffield Wednesday currently occupy 7th and 22nd spots in the league, with 42 points and 28 points respectively after 30 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Stoke City continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, beginning with Steven Fletcher opening the scoring, 83 minutes in. The game ended with a 1-0 victory for Stoke City.
