On Saturday, Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday were held to a 1-1 draw at Ewood Park. Blackburn Rovers were looking to get back winning ways, following a previous defeat to Stoke City. Sheffield Wednesday, on the other hand, were coming from a 1-0 win against Coventry City. At the moment, Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday are 11th, (29 points) and 23rd, (13 points), spots respectively, after 21 matches.

Sheffield Wednesday started the game well, thanks to Adam Reach opening the scoring just before half-time, thereby seeing the first half to a 0-1.

Blackburn Rovers took the lead in the second half, beginning with a goal from Joe Rothwell in the 76th minute, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Both managers used allfull available substitutions. For Blackburn Rovers, Ben Brereton, Bradley Dack and Stewart Downing came on for Sam Gallagher, Lewis Holtby and Bradley Johnson, while Sheffield Wednesday brought on Liam Shaw, Kadeem Harris and Isaiah Brown to replace Joost van Aken, Adam Reach and Josh Windass.

The referee booked Darragh Lenihan for Blackburn Rovers.

Blackburn Rovers will next travel to Huddersfield Town, while Sheffield Wednesday will face Middlesbrough at home.
