On Tuesday, Wycombe Wanderers suffer an away defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough Stadium. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Sheffield Wednesday arrived at the game looking pick up points after losing 4-1 to Millwall in their last match. Wycombe Wanderers were beaten 3-0 in the previous match against Nottingham Forest. As the table looks today, Sheffield Wednesday and Wycombe Wanderers are 21st, (28 points) and 24th, (16 points), in the league respectively, after 25 matches.

Sheffield Wednesday started the game well, beginning with a goal from Jordan Rhodes, 33 minutes in, thereby seeing the first half to a 1-0.

Sheffield Wednesday continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, following a goal from Adam Reach in minute 76. They managed to see the game out with a clean sheet and a final score of 2-0.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. For Sheffield Wednesday, Elias Kachunga and Joey Pelupessy came on for Jordan Rhodes and Barry Bannan, and Wycombe Wanderers brought on Uche Ikpeazu, Garath McCleary, Admiral Muskwe and Fred Onyedinma for Adebayo Akinfenwa, Scott Kashket, Anis Mehmeti and Daryl Horgan.

The referee booked two players from Wycombe Wanderers, Jordan Obita and Ryan Tafazolli.

Sheffield Wednesday will play their next fixture at home against Swansea City, while Wycombe Wanderers will face Huddersfield Town away.
