AC Monza strolled past Salernitana with a 3-1 win on Saturday at Stadio Arechi. Both sides arrived fresh from some positive results. Salernitana were looking to continue their run after winning their previous two games in the league. The most recent was against the Venezia at home (2-1), the other to Virtus Entella away (3-0) whilst ASS were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Cremonese in their last match. As the table looks today, Salernitana are in 3rd place on the table and has 60 points while ASS sit in 4th with 58 points after 35 matches.
After an un-eventful first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on ASS who started the second half well, thanks to an early goal from Frattesi in the 49th minute. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Gondo at the 51 minute mark, brought Salernitana level. However, each side looked hungry to win and ASS then found the back of the net, 81 minutes in thanks to Balotelli, taking the score to 2-1. However they weren’t finished yet and Balotelli made it 3-1 just before the final whistle to make it 3-1.
For Salernitana, Coulibaly, Kupisz, Schiavone, André Anderson and Cicerelli, came on for Kiyine, Jaroszynski, Di Tacchio, Casasola and Capezzi. ASS replaced Barberis, Andrea D’errico, Balotelli and D’Alessandro with Scozzarella, Colpani, Diaw and Frattesi.
There were bookings for Veseli and Casasola from Salernitana. For ASS, Lorenzo Pirola and Balotelli saw yellow.
Salernitana will next travel to Pordenone, while ASS will face Lecce at home.
