POR 2 – VIC 4: Travelling fans rewarded with victory

POR on Sunday lost to Vicenza on a home defeat. Both POR and VIC came from defeats in their previous league games. POR were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to AC Monza. VIC were beaten 1-0 in the previous match against Cremonese. As things stand, POR and VIC currently occupy 20th and 19th spots in the league, with 1 point and 3 points respectively after 7 matches.

VIC started strongly in the first half, thanks to Longo finding the net, at 30 minutes. The momentum was now with VIC, who then scored again through a goal from Di Pardo, 43 minutes in to establish a 2-0. POR in turn, then responded just before half-time increasing their lead with an effort from Camporese, finishing the first half 1-2.

POR started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with Nicolò Cambiaghi finding the net at the 55 minute mark. However, each side looked hungry to win and VIC then found the back of the net in the 81st minute thanks to Meggiorini, taking the score to 3-2. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Taugourdeau just before the final whistle to make it 4-2.

For POR, Perri, Valietti, Mensah, Sabbione and Cheikh Sylla, came on for Bassoli, El Kaouakibi, Folorunsho, Camporese and Nicolò Cambiaghi. VIC replaced Proia, Longo, Ranocchia, Crecco and Cappelletti for Dalmonte, Meggiorini, Taugourdeau, Bruscagin and Thomas Sandon.

There were bookings for Folorunsho and Tsadjout from POR. For VIC, Crecco, Ranocchia, Cappelletti, Diaw and Thomas Sandon saw yellow.

POR next face Ternana Calcio and VIC are at home to Reggina.
