Reggina on away loss to PIS at Arena Garibaldi – Stadio Romeo Anconetani on Saturday. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. PIS arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Parma in their previous game. REG are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As it stands, PIS are 1st with 19 points from 7 matches, while REG sit in 9th, with 10 points from 7.
PIS started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to Cionek giving PIS the lead early in the first half, finalising the first half 1-0.
PIS continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Lucca finding the net, at 68 minutes and seeing the game end 2-0.
For PIS, Sibilli, Gabriele Piccinini, Marsura, De Vitis and Masucci, came on for Gucher, Cohen, Touré, Nagy and Lucca. REG replaced Bellomo, Di Chiara, Turati, Montalto and Bianchi with Cortinovis, Liotti, Laribi, Galabinov and Hetemaj.
The referee booked Sibilli and Caracciolo from PIS. REG had the worst of it though, with Crisetig and Di Chiara seeing yellow, and Micai then sent off with a red.
Next up, PIS are away to Crotone, whilst REG will travel to face Vicenza.
