Nashville SC defeat New York 3-1 on Saturday at Nissan Stadium. As the table looks today, Nashville and NYC currently occupy 2nd and 4th spots in the league, with 38 points and 34 points respectively after 30 matches.
Nashville started the first half well, with a goal from Mukhtar, 30 minutes in. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Latinovich, at 32 minutes, which saw the first half end 2-0.
Nashville continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Mukhtar finding the net again at the 69 minute mark. NYC in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with an effort from Castellanos. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 3-1 to Nashville.
For Nashville, Muyl, Aké Loba, Cádiz, Matt Lagrassa and Haakenson, came on for Ríos, Sapong, Mukhtar, Tah Anunga and Washington. NYC brought on Andrade, Talles Magno, Gloster and Zelalem, to replace Medina, Rodríguez, Amundsen and Acevedo.
Nashville and NYC played a tough game where the referee sanctioned Nashville with yellow cards to Muyl, Mukhtar and Haakenson and with red card to Mccarty, while from NYC Medina, Castellanos and Acevedo were booked and red to Moralez.
