Portland Timbers strolled past Houston Dynamo with a 2-0 win on Saturday at BBVA Compass Stadium. As the table looks today, Houston and Portland currently occupy 13th and 6th spots in the league, with 19 points and 30 points respectively after 30 matches.
Portland started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to a goal from Chará at the 15 minute mark. However they weren’t finished yet and Mora made it 2-0, 20 minutes in, ending the first half 0-2. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 2-0.
For Houston, Dorsey, Quintero, Bajamich, Corona and Junqua, came on for Jones, Pasher, Lundqvist, Memo Rodríguez and Picault. Portland brought on Loria, Zambrano, Tuiloma, Valeri and Moreno, to replace Asprilla, Fochive, Bonilla, Blanco and Chará.
There were bookings for Parker from Houston, and Bravo, Zambrano and Mabiala, for Portland.
Houston will play their next fixture at home against Austin, while Portland will face Vancouver Whitecaps away.
