AC Monza eased past Lecce in a 1-0 victory on Tuesday at Stadio Comunale Brianteo. ASS were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games in the competition. The most recent was against the Salernitana away (3-1), the other to Cremonese at home (2-1). Lecce, on the other hand, lost 3-1 in the last match they played against Cittadella. As the table looks today, both teams are on 61 points and occupy 4th and 3rd places respectively after 36 matches.

ASS started the game well, with Barberis finding the net just before half-time With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 1-0.

For ASS, Balotelli, Armellino, Diaw, Scozzarella and D’Alessandro, came on for Boateng, Colpani, Barberis, Mota and Sampirisi. Lecce brought on Mancosu, Meccariello, Nikolov, Pablo Rodríguez and Yalcin, to replace Tachtsidis, Dermaku, Henderson, Stępiński and Bjorkengren.

There were bookings for Balotelli from ASS. For Lecce, Hjulmand saw yellow.

ASS will next play Nuova Cosenza away, with Lecce facing Reggina at home.
