Sampdoria defeat Udinese 1-0 on Sunday at the Stadio Friuli. Udinese were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Napoli. Sampdoria had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Spezia Calcio. As it stands, Udinese are in 12th place on the table and has 40 points while Sampdoria sit in 9th with 49 points after 37 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Sampdoria continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Fabio Quagliarella giving The Blue-circled the lead just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 1-0.

For Udinese, Samir, Fernando Forestieri, Fernando Llorente and Thomas Ouwejan, came on for Marvin Zeegelaar, Jean-Victor Makengo, Stefano Okaka and Rodrigo Becao. Sampdoria replaced Jakub Jankto, Fabio Quagliarella, Valerio Verre and Mikkel Damsgaard with Mehdi Leris, Manolo Gabbiadini, Keita Balde and Antonio Candreva.

There were bookings for Stefano Okaka, Walace and Kevin Bonifazi from Udinese. For Sampdoria, Morten Thorsby saw yellow.

Udinese will next play Internazionale away, with Sampdoria facing Parma at home.
