Sassuolo 1 – Salernitana 0: Neroverdi jubilant after home win against granate

Sassuolo’s 1-0 win over Salernitana on Sunday, was hard fought at the MAPEI Stadium. Sassuolo were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Atalanta. Salernitana, on the other hand, secured a point against Hellas Verona in their previous match. After today’s result, Sassuolo are in 12th place on the table and has 7 points while Salernitana sit in 20th with 1 point after 6 matches.

After a goalless first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Sassuolo who started the second half well, thanks to Domenico Berardi finding the net in the 54th minute. The game ended with a 1-0 home victory.

For Sassuolo, Hamed Junior Traoré, Gianluca Scamacca, Abdou Harroui, Gregoire Defrel and Giorgos Kyriakopoulos, came on for Jeremie Boga, Giacomo Raspadori, Davide Frattesi, Domenico Berardi and Filip Djuricic. Salernitana brought on Federico Bonazzoli, Simy, Joel Obi, Pawel Jaroszynski and Nadir Zortea, to replace Cedric Gondo, Milan Djuric, Francesco Di Tacchio, Luca Ranieri and Norbert Gyomber.

There were bookings for Maxime Lopez, Gian Marco Ferrari and Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo. For Salernitana, Luca Ranieri, Cedric Gondo and Federico Bonazzoli saw yellow.

Salernitana and Sassuolo will next play at home to Genoa and Internazionale respectively.
