Sassuolo 1 – Inter 2: Neroverdi suffer home defeat to Nerazzurri

Sassuolo were defeated at home by Internazionale at the MAPEI Stadium on Saturday. Sassuolo had been hopeful of continuing their run, following a 1-0 victory against Salernitana. Inter had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Atalanta. As the table looks today, Sassuolo are in 12th place on the table and has 7 points while Inter sit in 2nd with 17 points after 7 matches.

Neroverdi dominated the first half, with Domenico Berardi finding the net, 22 minutes in to see out the first half 1-0.

Inter continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Edin Dzeko in the 58th minute. Nerazzurri then netted once more and turned the match thanks to a goal from Lautaro Martinez in the 78th minute to make it 2-1.

For Sassuolo, Giacomo Raspadori, Hamed Junior Traoré and Gianluca Scamacca, came on for Gregoire Defrel, Filip Djuricic and Davide Frattesi. Inter brought on Federico Dimarco, Matteo Darmian, Edin Dzeko, Arturo Vidal and Danilo D`Ambrosio, to replace Alessandro Bastoni, Denzel Dumfries, Joaquin Correa, Hakan Calhanoglu and Lautaro Martinez.

There were bookings for Mert Muldur, Maxime Lopez, Andrea Consigli and Giacomo Raspadori from Sassuolo, and Ivan Perisic and Nicolo Barella, for Inter.

Inter and Sassuolo will next play away to Lazio and Genoa respectively.
