Sampdoria were held to 3-3 draw by Udinese down on Sunday at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Sampdoria arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Juventus. Udinese, on the other hand, had lost their previous match against Fiorentina. As things stand, Sampdoria are in 15th place, with 6 points from 7 matches, while Udinese sit in 13th, with 8 points from 7.
Udinese found the net first, with Roberto Pereyra giving Bianconeri the lead at the 15 minute mark. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Jens Stryger Larsen producing an equaliser, at 24 minutes, bringing The Blue-circled level. Bianconeri in turn, then responded just before half-time increasing their lead with an effort from Beto. The score at half time was 1-2.
Sampdoria started the second half with renewed vigour, thanks to an early penalty goal from Fabio Quagliarella in the 48th minute. The momentum was now with Sampdoria, who then scored again through a goal from Antonio Candreva, 69 minutes in to establish a 3-2. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Fernando Forestieri equalised for Udinese in the 82nd minute. The game ended wih a 3-3 draw.
For Sampdoria, Kristoffer Askildsen, Albin Ekdal and Ernesto Torregrossa, came on for Mikkel Damsgaard, Adrien Silva and Fabio Quagliarella. Udinese brought on Tolgay Arslan, Nahuel Molina, Fernando Forestieri, Lazar Samardzic and Brandon Soppy, to replace Gerard Deulofeu, Iyenoma Destiny Udogie, Samir, Jean-Victor Makengo and Jens Stryger Larsen.
There were bookings for Morten Thorsby, Kristoffer Askildsen, Bartosz Bereszynski and Albin Ekdal from Sampdoria. For Udinese, Marco Silvestri, Roberto Pereyra, Samir, Rodrigo Becao and Fernando Forestieri saw yellow.
