Fiorentina on away loss to Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Sunday. Sampdoria were looking for a victory following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Benevento in their previous game. Fiorentina lost 2-0 in the last match they played against Internazionale. As it stands, Sampdoria are in 10th place, with 30 points from 22 matches, while Fiorentina sit in 16th, with 22 points from 22.
Sampdoria started the game well, beginning with a goal from Keita Balde in the 31st minute. However, their lead didn’t last for long, as an equalizer from a Dusan Vlahovic, 37 minutes in brought Fiorentina level, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.
Sampdoria continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, thanks to Fabio Quagliarella opening the scoring in the 71st minute, and the game ended 2-1.
Both teams used all their substitutes. For Sampdoria, Antonio Candreva, Fabio Quagliarella, Albin Ekdal and Mehdi Leris came on for Mikkel Damsgaard, Jakub Jankto, Adrien Silva and Keita Balde, while Fiorentina brought on Kevin Malcuit and Jose Callejon to replace Lorenzo Venuti and German Pezzella.
