Atalanta enjoyed a mesmerising away victory against Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Sunday. Sampdoria were looking to get back winning ways, following a previous defeat to Lazio whilst Atalanta were coming from consecutive wins against Napoli and Cagliari. After today’s result, Sampdoria and Atalanta sit 10th, (30 points) and 4th, (46 points), in the table respectively, after 24 matches.
Atalanta scored first, beginning with a goal from Ruslan Malinovskyi just before half-time, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.
Atalanta continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, following a goal from Robin Gosens in the 70th minute. The game ended with a 2-0 victory for Atalanta.
