Salernitana 1 – Genoa 0- Victory denied for visitors as granate win

Salernitana strolled past Genoa with a 1-0 win on Saturday at Stadio Arechi. Salernitana were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 1-0 to Sassuolo whilst Genoa had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Hellas Verona. As it stands, Salernitana are in 19th place, with 4 points from 7 matches, while Genoa sit in 16th, with 5 points from 7.

After an un-eventful first half, Salernitana piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Milan Djuric giving granate the lead at the 66 minute mark and seeing the game end 1-0.

For Salernitana, Francesco Di Tacchio, Joel Obi, Federico Bonazzoli, Milan Djuric and Pawel Jaroszynski, came on for Lassana Coulibaly, Mamadou Coulibaly, Cedric Gondo, Simy and Luca Ranieri. Genoa brought on Caleb Ekuban, Mohamed Fares, Paolo Ghiglione and Goran Pandev, to replace Flavio Junior Bianchi, Stefano Sabelli, Domenico Criscito and Abdoulaye Toure.

There were bookings for Norbert Gyomber and Franck Ribery from Salernitana. For Genoa, Nikola Maksimovic and Andrea Cambiaso saw yellow.

Salernitana will play away against Spezia Calcio, while Genoa will face Sassuolo at home.
