Napoli enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Benevento at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday. Napoli were looking to get back winning ways, following a previous defeat to Atalanta. Benevento, on the other hand, had to settle for a draw 0-0 against Roma. As things stand, Napoli are in 6th place, with 43 points from 24 matches, while Benevento sit in 16th, with 25 points from 24.
Napoli started the game well, with Dries Mertens opening the scoring in the 34th minute, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.
Napoli continued to apply pressure the second half and were rewarded, beginning with Matteo Politano opening the scoring in the 66th minute, sealing a resounding 2-0 victory for the home side.
For Napoli Nikola Maksimovic, Eljif Elmas and Elseid Hysaj came on for Piotr Zielinski, Dries Mertens and Matteo Politano, while Benevento brought on Roberto Insigne, Marco Sau, Gaetano Letizia, Adolfo Gaich and Gabriele Moncini to replace Pasquale Schiattarella, Gianluca Caprari, Daam Foulon, Gianluca Lapadula and Artur Ionita.
