Juve 3 – Sampdoria 2- The Blue-circled unable to avoid away defeat

Sampdoria fell to an away defeat at the hands of Juventus at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday. Juve were looking to continue their run, following a 3-2 victory against Spezia Calcio. Sampdoria, on the other hand, were beaten 4-0 in the previous match against Napoli. After today’s result, Juve and Sampdoria sit 8th and 14th places with 8 points and 5 points respectively.

The Old Lady started the game well, thanks to Paulo Dybala finding the net at the 10 minute mark. The momentum was now with Juve, who then scored again through a goal from Leonardo Bonucci, 43 minutes in to establish a 2-0. However, The Blue-circled just before half-time hit back though via a Maya Yoshida goal, which saw the first half end 2-1.

Juve continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Manuel Locatelli finding the net at the 57 minute mark. Sampdoria in turn, then responded, 83 minutes in increasing their lead with an effort from Antonio Candreva. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 3-2 to Juve.

For Juve, Dejan Kulusevski, Aaron Ramsey, Giorgio Chiellini, Moise Kean and Weston McKennie, came on for Paulo Dybala, Federico Bernardeschi, Federico Chiesa, Alvaro Morata and Rodrigo Bentancur. Sampdoria brought on Tommaso Augello, Mikkel Damsgaard, Adrien Silva, Ernesto Torregrossa and Kristoffer Askildsen, to replace Nicola Murru, Fabio Depaoli, Albin Ekdal, Francesco Caputo and Morten Thorsby.

There were bookings for Rodrigo Bentancur, Juan Cuadrado, Leonardo Bonucci and Moise Kean from Juve, and Morten Thorsby, Nicola Murru and Albin Ekdal, for Sampdoria.

Juve will next travel to Torino, while Sampdoria will face Udinese at home.
