Internazionale’s Simone Inzaghi saw his side to victory at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Today’s result, leave both teams on 0 points and occupying 10th and 8th positions respectively, after their first match.

Nerazzurri started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Milan Skriniar opening the rout early in the first half. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Hakan Calhanoglu in the 14th minute, to take a 2-0 lead into half time.

Inter continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Arturo Vidal, 74 minutes in. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Edin Dzeko just before the final whistle to make it 4-0.

For Inter, Arturo Vidal, Federico Dimarco, Martin Satriano, Matias Vecino and Denzel Dumfries, came on for Stefano Sensi, Ivan Perisic, Hakan Calhanoglu, Nicolo Barella and Alessandro Bastoni. Genoa brought on Stefano Sabelli, Flavio Junior Bianchi, Laurens Serpe, Andrea Favilli and Filippo Melegoni, to replace Andrea Cambiaso, Hernani, Davide Biraschi, Yayah Kallon and Stefano Sturaro.

There were bookings for Matias Vecino from Inter. For Genoa, Domenico Criscito and Stefano Sturaro saw yellow.

In the second round of action in the Serie A Inter will travel to play Hellas Verona and Genoa will play Napoli at home.
