Fiorentina 2 – Torino 1: The Purple One see off visitors at Stadio Artemio Franchi

Fiorentina eased past Torino in a 2-1 victory on Saturday at Stadio Artemio Franchi. Both Fiorentina and Torino arrived at the match from previous defeats in the league. Fiorentina arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Roma. Torino were beaten 2-1 in the previous match against Atalanta. As it stands, Fiorentina and Torino are 10th, (3 points) and 17th, (0 points), in the table respectively, after 2 matches.

The Purple One continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Dusan Vlahovic at the 70 minute mark. The Bull in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with an effort from Simone Verdi. The game ended with a 2-1 win for Fiorentina.

For Fiorentina, Alfred Duncan, Riccardo Sottil, Riccardo Saponara and Youssef Maleh, came on for Gaetano Castrovilli, Jose Callejon, Nicolas Gonzalez and Giacomo Bonaventura. Torino brought on Alessandro Buongiorno, Marko Pjaca, Simone Verdi, Mergim Vojvoda and Cristian Ansaldi, to replace Koffi Djidji, Antonio Sanabria, Karol Linetty, Armando Izzo and Ola Aina.

There were bookings for Gaetano Castrovilli, Nikola Milenkovic, Giacomo Bonaventura and Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina. For Torino, Koffi Djidji, Rolando Mandragora, Alessandro Buongiorno, Ola Aina and Sasa Lukic saw yellow.

Fiorentina will play away against Atalanta, while Torino will face Salernitana at home.
