Internazionale snatched all three points from Fiorentina in a 3-1 victory on Tuesday, at Stadio Artemio Franchi. Both Fiorentina and Inter arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Fiorentina had been hopeful of continuing their run after winning their previous two games in the league. The most recent was against the Genoa away (2-1), the other to Atalanta away (2-1). Inter, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 6-1 win against Bologna in their last match. As things stand, Fiorentina and Inter currently occupy 6th and 2nd spots in the league, with 9 points and 10 points respectively after 5 matches.
The Purple One dominated the first half, thanks to Riccardo Sottil giving Fiorentina the lead, at 23 minutes, seeing out the first half 1-0.
Nerazzurri fought back, with Matteo Darmian finding the net at the 52 minute mark. Inter looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Edin Dzeko in the 55th minute to establish a 2-1. Inter then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Ivan Perisic just before the final whistle to make it 3-1.
For Fiorentina, Sofyan Amrabat, Alvaro Odriozola, Riccardo Saponara, Aleksandr Kokorin and Jose Callejon, came on for Lucas Torreira, Marco Benassi, Riccardo Sottil, Alfred Duncan and Giacomo Bonaventura. Inter brought on Denzel Dumfries, Alexis Sanchez, Matias Vecino, Federico Dimarco and Roberto Gagliardini, to replace Matteo Darmian, Edin Dzeko, Nicolo Barella, Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu.
The referee booked five players. Nicolas Gonzalez from Fiorentina, who saw yellow cards and Nicolas Gonzalez (2 yellow cards), sent off with a red, as well as for Inter Milan Skriniar, Matteo Darmian and Hakan Calhanoglu received yellows.
Fiorentina will next travel to Udinese, while Inter will face Atalanta at home.
