Empoli 1 – Venezia 2: Arancioneroverdi jubilant after away win against Azzurri

Empoli fell to a home defeat at the hands of Venezia at Carlo Castellani on Saturday. Empoli were looking to continue their run, following a 1-0 victory against Juventus. Venezia, on the other hand, were beaten 3-0 in the previous match against Udinese. As it stands, Empoli and Venezia sit 11th, (3 points) and 20th, (0 points), in the league respectively, after 3 matches.

The first half of the game started favourably for Venezia, thanks to Thomas Henry giving Arancioneroverdi the lead at the 13 minute mark, finishing the first half 0-1.

Venezia continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with David Okereke finding the net at the 68 minute mark. In the end though, Azzurri just before the final whistle pull-back following a Nedim Bajrami goal. The final result, Empoli 1, Venezia 2.
