Cagliari Calcio fail to take all 3 points, after 1-1 draw with Sassuolo

On Sunday, Cagliari Calcio and Sassuolo were held to a 1-1 draw at Sardegna Arena. Both Cagliari Calcio and Sassuolo arrived at the match from previous defeats in the league. Cagliari Calcio were looking to get back winning ways after losing 1-0 to Genoa in their previous fixture. Sassuolo were beaten 2-1 in the previous match against Lazio. After today’s result, Cagliari Calcio are in 18th place, with 15 points from 20 matches, while Sassuolo sit in 8th, with 31 points from 20.

After an uneventful first half, Cagliari Calcio took the lead in the second half, following a goal from Joao Pedro, 75 minutes in. However, they didn’t maintain the lead for long though, an equalizer from a Jeremie Boga just before the final whistle brought Sassuolo level, levelled the score at 1-1 draw.

For Cagliari, Leonardo Pavoletti, Riccardo Sottil, Sebastian Walukiewicz and Alessandro Tripaldelli came on for Francesco Caputo, Pedro Obiang, Filip Djuricic and Hamed Junior Traore, while Sassuolo brought on Gregoire Defrel, Maxime Lopez, Giacomo Raspadori and Brian Oddei to replace Francesco Caputo, Pedro Obiang, Filip Djuricic and Hamed Junior Traore.

There were bookings for Razvan Marin and Radja Nainggolan from Cagliari and Pedro Obiang, Maxime Lopez and Rogerio for Sassuolo.

Cagliari Calcio will play away against Lazio, while Sassuolo will face Spezia Calcio at home.
