Nottingham enjoyed a mesmerising away victory against Rotherham United at the Aesseal New York Stadium on Tuesday. Rotherham United were looking to get back winning ways after losing their last game 1-0 to Norwich City. Nottingham Forest were coming off the back of a 1-0 win against Blackburn Rovers. Following today’s result, Rotherham United are in 22nd place, with 29 points from 32 matches, while Nottingham Forest sit in 15th, with 39 points from 32.

After a goalless first half, Nottingham Forest continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, thanks to Ryan Yates opening the scoring, 67 minutes in. They managed to see the game out with a clean sheet and a final score of 1-0.

For Rotherham United Freddie Ladapo, Kieran Sadlier and Ryan Giles came on for Matthew Olosunde, Ben Wiles and Daniel Barlaser, while Nottingham replaced Luke Freeman, Glenn Murray, Anthony Knockaert and Filip Krovinovic for Joe Lolley, Lyle Taylor, Tyler Blackett and James Garner.

There were bookings for Michael Ihiekwe, Michael Smith and Angus MacDonald from Rotherham and Tobias Figueiredo for Nottingham.

Rotherham United will next play Reading at home, with Nottingham Forest facing Derby County away.
