Luton Town fell to an away defeat at the hands of Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday. Reading were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Brentford. Luton Town secured a point against Bournemouth in their previous match. After today’s result, Reading are in 5th place, with 36 points from 21 matches, while Luton Town sit in 15th, with 27 points from 21.

Reading started the game well, beginning with Tom McIntyre opening the scoring in the 9th minute. Later, Reading scored again and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Alfa Semedo in the 41st minute just before half-time and the first half ended 2-0.

Luton Town took the lead in the second half, thanks to Kazenga LuaLua opening the scoring just before the final whistle, and the game ended 2-1.

For Reading, John Swift and Tennai Watson came on for Martin Cranie, Glen Rea, George Moncur, Ruddock Pelly and Dan Potts, while Luton Town brought on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Danny Hylton, Rhys Norrington-Davies, Kazenga LuaLua and Harry Cornick to replace Martin Cranie, Glen Rea, George Moncur, Ruddock Pelly and Dan Potts.

There were bookings for Tom McIntyre from Reading and Martin Cranie and Kazenga LuaLua for Luton Town.

Reading will next play Swansea City away, with Luton Town facing Bristol City at home.
