Barnsley’s 3-1 win over QPR on Wednesday, was hard fought at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium. Queens Park Rangers were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 2-1 to Birmingham City while Barnsley were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Millwall and Stoke City. As things stand, Queens Park Rangers are in 17th place on the table and has 40 points while Barnsley sit in 6th with 54 points after 34 matches.

Barnsley started the game well, with a goal from Daryl Dike in the 23rd minute. However, the good form didn’t last for long. An equalizer from a goal from Charlie Austin in the 27th minute brought Queens Park Rangers level. Barnsley reestablished their lead thanks to a goal from Alex Mowatt in minute 29 to establish the 2-1, thereby seeing the first half to a 2-1.

Barnsley continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, following a goal from Carlton Morris, 57 minutes in. The game ended with a 3-1 victory for Barnsley.
