Preston enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Huddersfield Town at Deepdale on Saturday. Preston North End arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Queens Park Rangers in their previous game. Huddersfield Town were beaten 2-0 in the previous match against Derby County. After today’s result, Preston North End are in 13th place on the table and has 43 points while Huddersfield Town sit in 19th with 36 points after 33 matches.

Preston North End started strong and were rewarded, with Brad Potts opening the rout, 24 minutes in and managed to see out the first half 1-0.

Preston North End continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, with a goal from Ched Evans, 67 minutes in. Later, Preston North End took the lead with a goal form a goal from Scott Sinclair, 80 minutes in, and the game ended 3-0.

For Preston, Tom Barkhuizen, Daniel Johnson and Jayson Molumby came on for Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Duane Holmes, Isaac Mbenza, Fraizer Campbell and Richard Keogh, while Huddersfield Town brought on Aaron Rowe, Kieran Phillips, Scott High, Yaya Sanogo and Richard Stearman to replace Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Duane Holmes, Isaac Mbenza, Fraizer Campbell and Richard Keogh.

There were bookings for Anthony Gordon and Gregory Cunningham from Preston and Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Juninho Bacuna and Pipa for Huddersfield Town.

Preston North End will next play Millwall away, with Huddersfield Town facing Birmingham City at home.
