Wolves on Sunday lost to Burnley on a home defeat at Molineux Stadium. Wolves had been hopeful of continuing their run after winning their previous two matches against Sheffield United at home and Fulham away, by 1-0 and 1-0 respectively. Burnley, on the other hand, were beaten 3-1 in the previous match against Manchester United. As it stands, Wolves and Burnley are 12th, (41 points) and 14th, (36 points), in the league respectively, after 33 matches.
Burnley started the game well, with Chris Wood opening the rout at the 15 minute mark. The momentum was now with The Clarets, who then scored again through a effort from Chris Wood at the 21 minute mark to establish a 2-0. Burnley then scored again and increased their advantage thanks to a hat trick effort from Chris Wood just before half-time, which saw the first half end 0-3.
The Clarets continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Ashley Westwood just before the final whistle. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 4-0 to Burnley.
For Wolves, Fabio Silva, Vitinha and Morgan Gibbs-White, came on for Matej Vydra. Burnley replaced Jay Rodriguez with Matej Vydra.
There were bookings for Adama Traore from Wolves, and James Tarkowski and Matthew Lowton, for Burnley.
Wolves will next travel to West Bromwich Albion, while Burnley will face West Ham United at home.
