Brentford snatched all three points from West Ham United in a 2-1 victory on Sunday, at London Stadium. The Hammers had been hopeful of continuing their run, following a 2-1 victory against Leeds United. Brentford were unable to beat Liverpool in a 3-3 draw. As the table looks today, The Hammers are in 9th place, with 11 points from 7 matches, while Brentford sit in 7th, with 12 points from 7.
Brentford started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to Bryan Mbeumo giving The Bees the lead, 20 minutes in and seeing the first half out 0-1.
The Hammers took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Jarrod Bowen at the 80 minute mark. Brentford in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with an effort from Yoane Wissa. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 2-1 to Brentford.
There were bookings for Kurt Zouma and Declan Rice from The Hammers. For Brentford, Christian Norgaard, Sergi Canos and Zanka saw yellow.
The Hammers will next play Everton away, with Brentford facing Chelsea at home.
