On Sunday, The Hammers and Arsenal were held to a 3-3 draw at London Stadium. The Hammers were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Manchester United. Arsenal were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur in their last match. As it stands, The Hammers are in 5th place on the table and has 49 points while Arsenal sit in 9th with 42 points after 29 matches.
The Hammers scored first, thanks to Jesse Lingard giving The Hammers the lead, on 15 minutes. The Hammers looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Jarrod Bowen at the 17 minute mark to establish a 2-0. The momentum was now with The Hammers, who then scored again through a goal from Tomas Soucek at the 32 minute mark to establish a 3-0. Arsenal in turn, then responded in the 38th minute increasing their lead with a second effort from Tomas Soucek, finalising the first half 3-1.
The Gunners took the lead in the second half, with Craig Dawson finding the net, on 61 minutes. However they weren’t finished yet and Alexandre Lacazette made it 3-3 at the 82 minute mark to make it 3-3.
For The Hammers, Mark Noble and Ryan Fredericks, came on for Jarrod Bowen and Said Benrahma. Arsenal brought on Emile Smith-Rowe, Nicolas Pepe and Gabriel Martinelli, to replace Granit Xhaka, Bukayo Saka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
There were bookings for Vladimir Coufal, Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell from The Hammers, and Alexandre Lacazette, for Arsenal.
