Tottenham Hotspur snatched all three points from Sheffield United in a 4-0 victory on Sunday, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Both sides arrived on the back of wins. Spurs were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two matches in the league. The most recent was against the Fulham away (1-0), the other to Burnley at home (4-0). Sheffield U, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against Brighton & Hove Albion in their last match. As the table looks today, Spurs are in 5th place, with 56 points from 34 matches, while Sheffield U sit in 20th, with 17 points from 34.

The Lilywhites didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, with Gareth Bale opening the rout in the 36th minute and seeing the first half out 1-0.

Spurs continued to apply pressure in the second, with Gareth Bale finding the net again, on 61 minutes. The momentum was now with Spurs, who then scored again through a hat trick effort from Gareth Bale at the 69 minute mark to establish a 3-0. However they weren’t finished yet and Heung Min Son made it 4-0 in the 77th minute to make it 4-0.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. For Spurs, Harry Winks, Steven Bergwijn and Erik Lamela, came on for Giovani Lo Celso, Gareth Bale and Dele Alli, Sheffield U brought on Oliver Burke, Sander Berge and Lys Mousset, to replace Rhian Brewster, Jayden Bogle and David McGoldrick.

There were bookings for Pierre Hojbjerg from Spurs. For Sheffield U, John Egan saw yellow.

Spurs will play their next fixture away against Leeds United, while Sheffield U will face Crystal Palace at home.
