Saturday’s fixture between Soton and The Hammers delivered a goalless draw at St. Mary’s Stadium. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Soton wanted to improve their league standing after a 2-2 draw against Newcastle United. The Hammers had to settle for a draw 2-2 against Crystal Palace. As it stands, Soton are in 14th place on the table and has 3 points while The Hammers sit in 4th with 8 points after 4 matches.

For Soton, Ibrahima Diallo and Armando Broja, came on for Oriol Romeu and Adam Armstrong. The Hammers brought on Nikola Vlasic and Andriy Yarmolenko, to replace Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen.

The referee booked Oriol Romeu, Jack Stephens and Mohammed Salisu from Soton. The Hammers had the worst of it though, with Michail Antonio and Declan Rice seeing yellow, and Michail Antonio (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Soton will next travel to Manchester City, while The Hammers will face Manchester United at home.
