Liverpool eased past Sheffield in a 2-0 victory on Sunday at Bramall Lane. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Sheffield United were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 1-0 to Fulham. Liverpool lost 2-0 in the last match they played against Everton. As it stands, Sheffield United are in 20th place on the table and has 11 points while Liverpool sit in 6th with 43 points after 26 matches.

After a goalless first half, Liverpool started the second half on an intensified spirit, beginning with early goal from Curtis Jones in the 48th minute. Later, Liverpool scored again and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Kean Bryan, 64 minutes in. The game ended with a 2-0 victory for Liverpool.

For Sheffield United Ben Osborn, Oliver Burke and Billy Sharp came on for Phil Jagielka, David McGoldrick and John Fleck, while Liverpool brought on James Milner and Naby Keita to replace Thiago Alcantara and Curtis Jones.
