Points secure for Leicester City as they ease past Chelsea 2-0

On Tuesday, Chelsea suffer an away defeat to Leicester at the King Power Stadium. Both sides arrived on the back of wins. Leicester City were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two matches in the league. The most recent was against the Southampton at home (2-0), the other to Newcastle United away (2-1). Chelsea, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 1-0 victory against Fulham. After today’s result, Leicester City are in 1st place, with 38 points from 18 matches, while Chelsea sit in 8th, with 29 points from 18.

It was an impressive opening from Leicester City, beginning with Onyinye Wilfred Ndidi opening the scoring after only 6 minutes. Later, Leicester City took the lead with a goal form a goal from James Maddison in the 41st minute just before half-time. The score at half time was 2-0. The second half ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

For Leicester, Ayoze Perez, Ricardo Pereira and Kelechi Iheanacho came on for Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kai Havertz, while Chelsea brought on Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech to replace Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kai Havertz.

There were bookings for Wesley Fofana from Leicester and Kai Havertz, Mateo Kovacic and Hakim Ziyech for Chelsea.

Leicester City will next play Everton away, with Chelsea facing Wolverhampton Wanderers at home.
