Man City 5 – Norwich 0: Cityzens humble visiting The Canaries at home

Manchester City cruises against Norwich City on a home win at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Man City were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur. Norwich had lost their previous match against Liverpool. As it stands, Man City and Norwich currently occupy 4th and 20th spots in the league, with 3 points and 0 points respectively after 2 matches.

Cityzens started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Tim Krul opening the rout early in the first half. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Jack Grealish, 22 minutes in, which saw the first half end 2-0.

Man City continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Aymeric Laporte in the 64th minute. Man City looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Raheem Sterling, 71 minutes in to establish a 4-0. Cityzens then scored once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Riyad Mahrez at the 84 minute mark with a final score of 5-0.

Both managers used allfull available substitutions. For Man City, Raheem Sterling, Cole Palmer and Riyad Mahrez, came on for Ferran Torres, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish, Norwich brought on Kenny McLean, Bali Mumba and Josh Sargent, to replace Lukas Rupp, Dimitris Giannoulis and Teemu Pukki.

The referee booked Ilkay Gundogan for Man City.

Man City next face Arsenal and Norwich are at home to Leicester City.
