Man City, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 1-0 victory against Chelsea. Following today’s result, Liverpool are in 2nd place on the table and has 15 points while Man City sit in 3rd with 14 points after 7 matches.
After a goalless first half, The Reds fought back the second half, thanks to Sadio Mane giving Liverpool the lead in the 59th minute. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Phil Foden in the 69th minute, brought Cityzens level. However, each side looked hungry to win and Liverpool then found the back of the net at the 76 minute mark thanks to Mohamed Salah, taking the score to 2-1. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Kevin De Bruyne equalised for Man City in the 81st minute, leaving the final score at 2-2.
For Liverpool, Roberto Firmino and Joe Gomez, came on for Diogo Jota and James Milner. Man City replaced Raheem Sterling with Jack Grealish.
There were bookings for James Milner, Diogo Jota and Fabinho from Liverpool, and Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo and Bernardo Silva, for Man City.
Liverpool will next play Watford away, with Man City facing Burnley at home.
