Villa snatched all three points from Leeds United in a 1-0 victory on Saturday, at Elland Road. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Leeds United were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Aston Villa, on the other hand, lost 2-1 in the last match they played against Leicester City. As it stands, Leeds United and Aston Villa currently occupy 10th and 8th spots in the league, with 35 points and 39 points respectively after 26 matches.
Aston Villa started strongly in the first half, following early goal from Anwar El Ghazi in the 5th minute to see out the first half 1-0. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 1-0.
For Leeds, Ezgjan Alioski, Jack Harrison and Pablo Hernandez came on for Jacob Ramsey and Anwar El Ghazi, while Villa brought on Morgan Sanson and Trezeguet to replace Jacob Ramsey and Anwar El Ghazi.
