Fulham fell to a home defeat at the hands of United at Craven Cottage on Wednesday. Fulham were hoping to get something from this game after losing 1-0 to Chelsea in their last match. Manchester United, on the other hand, were unable to beat Liverpool in a 0-0 draw. After today’s result, Fulham and Manchester United currently occupy 18th and 1st spots in the table, with 12 points and 40 points respectively after 18 matches.
It was an impressive opening from Fulham, with early goal from Ademola Lookman in the 5th minute. However, their lead didn’t last for long, as an equalizer from a Edinson Cavani in the 21st minute brought Manchester United level, which saw the first half end 1-1.
Manchester United continued to pile on the pressure the second half and were rewarded, following Paul Pogba opening the scoring in the 65th minute, which sealed the victory for the visitors.
Both coaches used all substitutions. For Fulham, Aboubakar Kamara, Mario Lemina and Aleksandar Mitrovic came on for Ivan Cavaleiro, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Ola Aina, while United brought on Scott McTominay, Marcus Rashford and Nemanja Matic to replace Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes.
