Burnley beat Fulham with a thumping 2-0 victory on Monday at Craven Cottage. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Fulham arrived at the game looking pick up points after losing their last game 2-0 to Chelsea. Burnley, on the other hand, lost 2-1 in the last match they played against West Ham United. As it stands, Fulham are in 18th place, with 27 points from 35 matches, while Burnley sit in 14th, with 39 points from 35.
Burnley started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to Ashley Westwood finding the net, 35 minutes in. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Chris Wood just before half-time and seeing the first half out 0-2. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 2-0.
For Fulham, Josh Maja, Joshua Onomah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, came on for Kenny Tete, Bobby Reid and Tosin Adarabioyo. Burnley brought on Jay Rodriguez and Ashley Barnes, to replace Matej Vydra and Chris Wood.
The referee booked Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Mario Lemina for Fulham.
Fulham will next play Southampton away, with Burnley facing Leeds United at home.
