Chelsea fell to a home defeat at the hands of Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Chelsea were looking to continue their run after winning their previous two games in the league. The most recent was against the Tottenham Hotspur away (3-0), the other to Aston Villa at home (3-0). Man City, on the other hand, secured a point against Southampton in their previous match. As the table looks today, both teams are on 13 points and sit in 3rd and 2nd places respectively after 6 matches.
After an un-eventful first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Cityzens who started the second half well, with Gabriel Jesus finding the net at the 53 minute mark, leaving the final score at 1-0.
Both coaches used the full entitlement. For Chelsea, Thiago Silva, Kai Havertz and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, came on for Reece James, N’Golo Kante and Jorginho, Man City brought on Riyad Mahrez, Fernandinho and Raheem Sterling to replace Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish.
