Chelsea – Leicester City – Visiting Leicester cannot avoid defeat by The Blues

Chelsea enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday. Chelsea arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Arsenal. Leicester, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against Manchester United. As the table looks today, Chelsea are in 3rd place on the table and has 67 points while Leicester sit in 4th with 66 points after 37 matches.

The Blues continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Jorginho at the 66 minute mark. In the end though, The Foxes in the 76th minute hit back though thanks to a Kelechi Iheanacho goal. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 2-1 to Chelsea.

For Chelsea, Mateo Kovacic, Kurt Zouma and Olivier Giroud, came on for N`Golo Kante, Cesar Azpilicueta and Timo Werner. Leicester brought on Kelechi Iheanacho and Ricardo Pereira, to replace James Maddison and Marc Albrighton.

There were bookings for Cesar Azpilicueta and Edouard Mendy from Chelsea. For Leicester, Ayoze Perez, Wesley Fofana, Onyinye Wilfred Ndidi and Ricardo Pereira saw yellow.

Chelsea will next travel to Aston Villa, while Leicester will face Tottenham Hotspur at home.
