Liverpool beats Burnley 3-0 on Wednesday at Turf Moor. Burnley were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Leeds United while Liverpool were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against West Bromwich Albion and Manchester United. As it stands, Burnley and Liverpool currently occupy 17th and 4th spots in the league, with 39 points and 66 points respectively after 37 matches.

The Reds started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Roberto Firmino opening the rout just before half-time to take them into the break 0-1 up.

Liverpool started the second half with renewed vigour, with a goal from Nathaniel Phillips, 52 minutes in. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain just before the final whistle with a final score of 3-0.

For Burnley, Matej Vydra, came on for Jack Cork. Liverpool brought on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Kostas Tsimikas for Roberto Firmino, Georginio Wijnaldum and Sadio Mane.

Burnley will play away against Sheffield United, while Liverpool will face Crystal Palace at home.
