Brighton enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Leeds United at the Amex Stadium on Saturday. Brighton were looking to get back winning ways after losing their last game 1-0 to Sheffield United. Leeds, on the other hand, are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. Following today’s result, Brighton are in 14th place, with 37 points from 34 matches, while Leeds sit in 9th, with 47 points from 34.

It was an impressive opening from Brighton, thanks to Pascal Gross giving The Seagulls the lead at the 14 minute mark and managed to see out the first half 1-0.

Brighton continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Danny Welbeck finding the net at the 79 minute mark, leaving the final score at 2-0.

Brighton brought on Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Jakub Moder and Alexis MacAllister for Leandro Trossard, Danny Welbeck and Yves Bissouma. Leeds brought on Ian Poveda, Rodrigo Moreno and Pablo Hernandez, to replace Ezgjan Alioski, Patrick Bamford and Diego Llorente.

There were bookings for Pascal Gross from Brighton. For Leeds, Luke Ayling saw yellow.

Brighton will next travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers, while Leeds will face Tottenham Hotspur at home.
