Brighton 0 – Everton 2: The Toffees cruise past The Seagulls at home

Brighton were defeated at home by Everton at the Amex Stadium on Saturday. Brighton had been hopeful of continuing their run after winning their previous two games in the league. The most recent was against the Watford at home (2-0), the other to Burnley away (2-1). Everton had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Leeds United. As the table looks today, Brighton are in 7th place on the table and has 6 points while Everton sit in 2nd with 7 points after 3 matches.

The Toffees started the first half well, with a goal from Demarai Gray just before half-time to see out the first half 0-1.

Everton continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Dominic Calvert-Lewin finding the net in the 58th minute, leaving the final score at 2-0.

For Brighton, Joel Veltman, Danny Welbeck and Taylor Richards, came on for Alexis MacAllister, Adam Lallana and Jakub Moder. Everton replaced Alex Iwobi and Andre Gomes with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Demarai Gray.

There were bookings for Yves Bissouma from Brighton. For Everton, Richarlison and Jordan Pickford saw yellow.

Brighton will next travel to Brentford, while Everton will face Burnley at home.
