On Sunday, Fulham suffer an away defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park. Both Villa and Fulham arrived at the match from previous defeats in the league. Villa were looking forward to meeting again after losing 1-0 to Sheffield United in their previous fixture. Fulham were beaten 1-0 in the previous match against Tottenham Hotspur. As the table looks today, Villa are currently 9th with 44 points from 30 matches, while Fulham sit in 18th, with 26 points from 30.

After an un-eventful first half, Fulham took the initiative in the second half, thanks to Aleksandar Mitrovic giving Fulham the lead at the 61 minute mark. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Trezeguet in the 78th minute, brought Villa level. Villa looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a 2nd effort from Trezeguet at the 81 minute mark to establish a 2-1. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Ollie Watkins just before the final whistle with a final score of 3-1.

Both managers used all substitutions. For Villa, Trezeguet, Keinan Davis and Jacob Ramsey, came on for Anwar El Ghazi, Morgan Sanson and Douglas Luiz, Fulham brought on Ivan Cavaleiro, Joshua Onomah and Josh Maja for Ademola Lookman, Mario Lemina and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

There were bookings for Douglas Luiz from Villa. For Fulham, Joachim Andersen and Bobby Reid saw yellow.

Fulham and Villa will next play away to Chelsea and Liverpool respectively.
