Angers started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with a goal from Marcelo, 53 minutes in. Angers then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Azzedine Ounahi, 77 minutes in with a final score of 3-0.

The referee booked Batista Mendy from Angers. Lyon had the worst of it though, with Castello Lukeba, Marcelo, Maxwel Cornet and Sinaly Diomande seeing yellow, and Maxwel Cornet (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.
