The first confrontation between Red Star Belgrade and Milan held this Thursday at the Rajko Mitic Stadium ended with a draw to two. Red Star Belgrade came from occupying 2nd position in the group stage with 11 points; the away team, for its part, finished in 1st place in the group H with 13 points. With this result, Red Star Belgrade misses the field advantage in the play-off of Europa League, which will have to be resolved in the stadium AC Milan.

AC Milan started strong and were rewarded, beginning with a goal from Radovan Pankov just before half-time, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

Red Star Belgrade started the second half on an intensified spirit, following a goal from Guelor Kanga, 52 minutes in. However, AC Milan reestablished their lead 2-1 with a Theo Hernandez goal, 61 minutes in. However, their lead didn’t last for long, as an equalizer from a Milan Pavkov just before the final whistle brought Red Star Belgrade level, levelled the score at 2-2 draw.

For Red Star Belgrade, Filippo Falco, Milan Gajic, Axel Bakayoko, Sekou Sanogo and Milan Pavkov came on for Ismael Bennacer, Ante Rebic, Theo Hernandez and Mario Mandzukic, while Milan brought on Sandro Tonali, Rafael Leao, Diogo Dalot and Hakan Calhanoglu to replace Ismael Bennacer, Ante Rebic, Theo Hernandez and Mario Mandzukic.

The referee booked six players. Nemanja Milunovic and Milan Rodic from Red Star Belgrade saw yellow cards and Milan Rodic (2 yellow cards) sent off with a red, as well as for AC Milan Alessio Romagnoli, Mario Mandzukic and Gianluigi Donnarumma saw yellows.

On 25 de February We will know who will qualify: it will be decided in the return match that will face both teams again in the stadium AC Milan.
