Real Salt Lake’s 4-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps on Thursday, was hard fought at BC Place Stadium. As the table looks today, Caps are currently 13th with 9 points from 16 matches, while RSL sit in 6th, with 16 points from 16.
It was an impressive opening from Claret and Cobalt, with an early goal from Kreilach in the 2nd minute and seeing the first half out 0-1.
RSL continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Kreilach finding the net again at the 57 minute mark. RSL looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Rusnák in the 71st minute to establish a 3-0. RSL then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Julio just before the final whistle with a final score of 4-0.
For Caps, Raposo, Jakob Nerwinski, Owusu and Bair, came on for Teibert, Gutiérrez, Caio Alexandre and Brian White. RSL brought on Méndez, Nick Besler, Julio, Portillo and Chang, to replace Wood, Ruiz, Everton, Meram and Rusnák.
The referee booked two players from RSL, Ruiz and Toia.
